Support the Most Vulnerable Lives in Animal Welfare

Every spring, as the weather warms up, animal shelters across the country are flooded with an influx of infant puppies and kittens. These young lives require round-the-clock care to ensure happy, healthy futures. Unfortunately, this can be overwhelming for many smaller, public shelters that may lack the resources and facilities for a boom of vulnerable animals. But when the need arises, ARF is the first call they make.

Take Chess, for example; this 2-year-old Spaniel mix birthed a litter of five pups whose lives were in jeopardy. Thankfully, ARF’s rescue team drove six hours roundtrip to California’s Central Valley to bring this little family into our care. At only 3 days old, they were welcomed into one of our dedicated, volunteer foster homes. With vigilant supervision, expert socialization, and regular medical check-ups, these puppies (and their doting mama) are thriving. Now 4 weeks old, it’s a joy to see them figure out the world, one new experience at a time.

Since February 1, ARF has taken in 65 puppies and kittens who needed our help to survive – including Chess’ litter. And they aren’t the last underage animals who will be entering ARF’s care this year. Your gift today will go directly to our foster program, providing loving care for animals in need all year long. Plus, thanks to a $500,000 matching campaign by a generous friend of the animals, you can double your impact and save twice as many lives.

Give Essential Items from Our Foster Wish List

There are many supplies crucial to the care and development of foster animals. These critical resources not only benefit the adorable baby animals mentioned in the story above, but all of the hundreds of dogs and cats who spend time in ARF’s volunteer foster homes every year.

Here are a handful of the items we need today:

  • Puppy pads
  • Puppy and kitten milk replacer
  • All-meat baby food
  • Unscented baby wipes
  • Pill pockets (for cats and dogs)
  • Interactive feeders (for cats and dogs)
  • Puppy snuggle toys
  • Metal exercise pens

ARF’s foster program has an Amazon Wish List featuring everything they need (with 0.5% of the proceeds benefiting ARF via AmazonSmile). Alternately, purchase supplies from Pet Food Express using our special affiliate link, and a whopping 4% of your purchase will be donated directly to ARF. Items can be dropped off during adoption hours (Wed-Sun, 12-6 pm) or shipped directly to ARF at 2890 Mitchell Drive, Walnut Creek, CA 94598, care of ARF Foster Program.
