Out with the old, in with the new!

Safe and Secure Paper Shredding

Bring your old papers to be securely shredded for just $10 per box. For your convenience, boxes can be dropped off to be shredded as early as 10 am.

Mobile shredding is a highly secure shredding process. Our shred partner’s certified drivers pick up confidential materials and bring them directly to the shredding truck. The hydraulic lift on the truck then raises the container to the shredder and your confidential information is shredded in minutes.

This event is for paper shredding only. E-waste shredding is not available. For more information, read our frequently asked questions at the bottom of this page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big is a “standard” box?

Generally, a standard box refers to the box that copy paper comes in, or the size of a banker’s box. The dimensions are approximately 18″ x 12″ x 9″.

Is there a limit on the number of boxes one person can have shredded?

There is no limit for our paper shredding as long as there is still room in the shredding truck — bring in as many boxes as you have!

Do I need an appointment?

No appointment necessary. Our easy drive-through process will make the experience quick for everyone.

Can I keep my boxes?

Yes, if you prefer to keep your boxes you may. If not, we will break down the boxes and recycle for you.

Do I need to bring the boxes to ARF for shredding?

Yes, we set up a drive-through line in our parking lot to get you in and out quickly. Volunteers will help you unload your car.

We cannot pick up boxes of paper from other locations.

Is the shredding done on-site or taken back to the plant?

All shredding is done on site.

Can I watch the documents being shredded?

Yes, you are welcome to park your vehicle and stay to watch the shredding process.

How secure is the shredding process?

Our volunteers will empty your boxes into a large container. Our shredding partners use a hydraulic lift to raise the container to their shredding truck and your confidential papers are shredded in minutes. As an added security feature, their high-tech shredding trucks are equipped with a camera and video monitor system. This allows the shredders and the customer the opportunity to verify all confidential information has indeed been shredded. Once the truck returns to the plant, everything is shredded a second time.

What forms of payment do you take?

We accept cash or credit card. We are unable to accept checks.

How much of the proceeds go to ARF?

Our shredding partners take a very small, flat fee to cover their expense in gas and truck operation for the event. All proceeds after that come directly to our lifesaving programs.

I still have questions. Who can I contact?

Feel free to contact our events team at (925) 296-3118 or [email protected].
