Kane (pronounced KAH-NEH) is an incredibly cuddly, energetic, and loveable pup. He is about 65-70lbs and is neutered. He has a history of yeast infections in both his ears that you have to be on the lookout for to make sure it doesnʻt come back. We did a DNA test and found out that he is 50% pitbull terrier, 29% Staffordshire terrier, 11% Chinese sharpei, and 10% supermutt.
The test also revealed that he is a little over 2 years old and we’ve been fostering him in Oakland for about 3 months. He was born in Stockton and has gone through a few homes so he is looking for a forever home. His first household seemed to not train him much, but he has already learned the basics of sit, (lie) down, paw, leave it, stay, heel, and let go in the short time he’s been with us. He needs some luring as he has yet to master them. He is also fully crate trained and does well in there for a long time if you give him toys when you have to leave him alone for a few hours.
His favorite thing to do is play fetch and pull out strings from rope toys. He is the type to do best in a one-dog household but is currently going through training to curb his aggression towards other dogs and is showing steady improvement. We desperately want to keep him but it seems that two dogs are too much for his foster mommy’s allergies to handle since he sheds a surprising amount. He needs an owner who is willing to patiently work with him on training while giving him lots of cuddles and playtime to expend his energy every day. He is a sweet boy who will show you lots of unconditional love.
